31. "Mountain Picnic" Story: One thing I have always loved about old Appalachian quilts is how they used only what they had (out of necessity) and made such beautiful quilts. This spring I decided to make a small quilt for picnics out of only scrap material that I had in my sewing closet. The pieced part of the quilt is made of leftover scraps from the craft show I entered when I retired a few years ago, the backing is an old soft sheet, and the binding is made from a old pair of denim curtains my neighbor gave me to recycle. Time for a mountain picnic!
