Quilt As You Go! Supply List
We are going to learn techniques more than anything, so use up some of your scraps! Since it's a reversible quilt... we will be talking about side A and side B... But for now... don't necessarily worry about fabric choices... we'll worry about that in the
future... Let's just learn how to put everything together.
MATERIALS!
- (4) 8" square pieces of cotton batting
- (4 for SIDE B) 10" square pieces of cotton fabric
- (2 for SIDE A ) 8" square piece of cotton fabric, cut diagonally once
- (24 for SIDE A) 2" x (at least) 12" strips of cotton fabric (this is where you can mix it up... have at least several to chose from... because it's scrappy, I like to have as many as I can get... but they should somewhat match your 8" square pieces for each
side)
- SIDE A SASHING : Cut (2) 1 1/8" x width of fabric strips
- SIDE B SASHING: Cut (2) 1 3/4" x width of fabric strips
- Thread to match the general color-way of each side. I like the Mettler silk finish...
- You can also bring some pre-made quilt squares if you like! Go ahead and make them into individual quilt sandwiches (and quilt them!) and bring some fabric you would like to sash them in!
SUPPLIES
- More Reversible Quilts book by Sharon Pederson - optional, but
shows the technique in detail
- Your sewing machine, with a 1/4" foot! Don't forget your foot control and power-cord! Also, if you have an edge-stitch foot
(#10 if you've got a Bernina!), bring that too!
- 505 Temporary Adhesive Spray
- A hand needle or two! Yes... we will use one!
- If you can't get everything cut or if you have some questions, go ahead and bring your rotary cutter, cutting mat, and ruler!
- Pins! Lots of and lots of them!
