Quilt Club - Help with March Optional Finishing Instructions
This month we will make a corner block using the Crazy Quilting method. There
are lots of books on the subject, but here are some tips.
1) Draw a line diagonally across one of your 12-1/2" muslin squares with a
pencil. We are only going to need one half of the block covered, so that is why
we're drawing the line.

2) Place a four- or five-sided piece of your dark or accent fabric in the center
of the square, right sides up. I would probably choose one of the darks (Green
for the Holiday colorway and Blue, Purple or Green for the Bohemian colorway)
instead of an accent color because in a later month you will make a row of
prairie points across the center line made out of your accent fabric.

3) Take another piece of fabric and place it right sides together on top of the
first piece so that the raw edges are even. This piece needs to be longer than
the raw edge of the first piece that you are going to sew to. I like to use
slightly triangular shapes instead of just strips to give it a more random look.
You can use either your dark fabric or your accent fabric, but you'll want to
mostly use your darks with a little accent fabric thrown in.

4) Sew second piece in a straight line covering the raw edge of the first piece.
Flip and press WITH AN IRON.

5) Sew another piece right sides together on top of the first two, covering the
edges. Don't forget
to make this piece longer than the side you're sewing on to.

6) Flip and press WITH AN IRON as before. You can trim out some of the extra
fabric underneath if you wish. Keep going in this manner until half of your
muslin square is covered with fabric. Make sure that fabric extends at least
1/4" beyond the diagonal pencil line.

7) If desired, embellish some or all of the folded edges with decorative
stitches from your sewing machine or with hand embroidery.
